There, she’d find you.

Of all the killers and thieves
the coldest bodies that still breathe
Some stand out more than others
but one lurks in the darkness
waiting to strike

The conscience of an honest man
amidst the schemes and plans
of the dishonest,
the killers and thieves

You’ll watch her walk
You’ll hear her talk
but the voices they try
stemmed from one good lie

She’ll take you down
Left, right, upwards and down
from the back, from the corners
all without a sound

When the bad guys are done plotting
and the good guys done fighting
the conscience of an honest man
fades into the dark, waiting

There she’d find you
defenseless by now
